Gordon Ramsay’s Wife Tana Ramsay Reveals Skin Condition From Tanning

Gordon Ramsay’s wife, Tana Ramsay, is revealing her skin condition after spending too much time in the sun.

“Gordon and I used to bake,” Tana, 51, told The Times in an interview published on Monday, January 19. “Now I have melasma. I’ll never forget going into a pharmacy and the woman behind the counter asking what the stains on my face were.”

Melasma is “characterized by brown or blue-gray patches or freckle-like spots,” according to the Cleveland Clinic. The skin condition is common and typically fades after a few months.

Tana’s admission comes months after Gordon, 59, got candid about his own skin cancer surgery.

“Grateful and so appreciate for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma thank you !” Gordon wrote via Instagram in August 2025. “Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend. I promise you it’s not a face lift! I’d need a refund…..”

While sharing the message, the celebrity chef uploaded photos of his bandage below the ear and along the left side of his face. One photo showed the inch incision, with about eight stitches.

Basal cell carcinoma is “a type of skin cancer that most often develops on areas of skin exposed to the sun, such as the face,” according to the Mayo Clinic. The cancer typically appears as a growth or a sore that doesn’t heal.

“Glad to hear you’re doing well, Gordon, and thanks for raising awareness of how important it is to stay safe in the sun,” the official Instagram account for Cancer Research UK wrote. “Seek shade, cover up, and apply sunscreen regularly and generously.”

Gordon and Tana’s daughter Holly Anna added in the comments section, “Love you dad,” (The couple shares six kids, Megan, Holly Anna, Jack Scott, Matilda, Oscar James and Jesse James.)

WWE star Alexa Bliss underwent a medical procedure after being diagnosed with skin cancer. “There was a spot on my face that had gotten worse. So [I] went to get [a] biopsy,” the professional wrestler, 31, tweeted on Wednesday, March 22. “[It] was basal cell carcinoma. During my procedure, doc also found other squamous cells. […]

One year before sharing his scar from skin cancer surgery, Gordon opened up about suffering from a bike accident.

“My life flashed before me,” Gordon told Men’s Health UK in 2024. “[I was] traveling down the hill quite fast, no other cars involved. The front wheel went down a pothole, and the whole bike just catapulted me. I struggled to breathe. I thought I was going to pass out. Stupidly, the bike was mangled, and I put the chain back on. Then, like an idiot with adrenaline, I started f***g riding again.”

He continued, “I bent down, started tightening up my helmet, and the whole thing had split. Then I was trying to look, and I could just see a blur of vision and blood everywhere. I honestly thought I was going to pass out.”

Gordon was rushed to the hospital and given a CT scan and got the all clear, but had a long road to recovery ahead of him.

“I couldn’t even put my fucking socks and pants on,” Ramsay explained at the time. “Justin, [Mandel, Gordon’s assistant] he used to dress me in the morning. I felt like a f***g 95-year-old man. Asking a 30-year-old kid to put my f***ing underpants on was embarrassing.”
